SEAL is an additional learning program introduced by the Victorian Education Department in Australia. This is an initiative to strengthen the foundation of Victoria’s education system. This initiative aims to ensure that the gifted and talented students are given the opportunity to maximise their potential.
If you feel that your child in Year 7, 8, 9 or 10 can be academically challenged, then enrol him or her for the SEAL exam.
One of the commonly asked questions is that if SEAL is available in all schools. However, there are only particular schools that fall under the banner of the Academy of Accredited Seal Schools (TASS), where SEAL criteria are followed.
What forms the Select Accelerated Learning Program?
The years 7 and 8 will cover the following subjects: English, Mathematics, German, Art, IT, Multimedia, Humanities, and Visual Art in the SEAL Program.
Year 9 SEAL Program will comprise of English, Mathematics, Humanities, Science, and Physical Education.
Year 10 students are allowed to pick their subjects from both the years — 10 and 11 classes which means that your kid may be given the opportunity to pick a university-level subject.
The SEAL Entrance Test
Students who want to attend the SEAL entrance test must ensure that they take the entrance exam the year before they want to attend the Select Entry Accelerated Learning program. The entrance test for the SEAL exam is held at TASS schools on various dates.
What are the documents to be submitted with the SEAL application?
Once you complete the online application form, scan and upload the following documents:
· Current school reports of your child for the second semester of fifth grade
· NAPLAN results for fifth grade
· A sample of work written by the student on any sort of essay.
Currently, there are 39 public schools in Victoria, Australia, that offer Select Entry Accelerated Learning Program.
