The NAPLAN — An Overview Of What It’s About

NAPLAN (National Assessment Program — Literacy and Numeracy) is an assortment of four or five tests that students must sit for three days in the second term of each year. It is managed by the educational organization ACARA (Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority) and is administered by all Private, Public and Christian schools in Australia. Students in years 3, 5, 7, and 9 take the NAPLAN. Students usually sit for the NAPLAN in halls at school or in large classrooms in year groups. Principals and class teachers supervise the children and young adults during every test. With the advent of NAPLAN Online Practice, schools plan to take computer-based tests instead of paper-based tests.
